Summer so far...

Well we are a few weeks into summer and it's been packed full of fun so far!  June is a busy month, but we are getting into a routine and enjoying our new summer schedule.

The girls and I went strawberry picking with friends a few weeks ago.

The big girls are swimming on a swim club this summer and they are loving it so far.  They have practice every weekday from 9 am - 10 am and swim meets every Tuesday and Thursday in June.  They have several friends that are doing it as well and are having a great time!

This past weekend, we went to Ohio to celebrate Grandma Brauchler's 90th birthday.  We got some swimming in at the "red hotel waterslide" and got to catch up with extended family.

We've spent a lot of time at our pool this summer, riding bikes and playing outside and Maddy also got her cast off last week.  Girls still have about 2 more weeks of softball before the season is over and have VBS coming up this week.

Avery is 6!

Avery Leigh, you are officially 6 years old!  You've been planning and counting down to your birthday for months!  You were so excited about your birthday party and couldn't wait to have all of your friends over.

You continue to do everything at full speed.  You are constantly running, climbing and rushing through everything that you do.  We are constantly telling you to slow down.  You attempt to climb just about anything and you are obsessed with doing the monkey bars.

You are super social and loved school this past year!  You were friends with everyone and played with both girls and boys.  You weren't super interested in school work this past year and it was usually tough for us to convince you to practice reading, writing or sight words.  School is definitely more social for you.

You are still quite the picky eater.  You prefer to snack or eat desserts, rather than meals.  Your favorite foods include: tacos, pbj sandwiches, strawberries, donuts and cereal.  You are a huge breakfast eater and we tend to think it's because you don't eat much at dinner most nights.  You love juices, Gatorade, lemonade and red drink (fruit punch).

You still love babies and younger kids.  You usually gravitate to your cousin, Emmy, and you like to mother her.  You are always asking to hold babies.  You love playing school and that is usually what you choose to do when you play by yourself in your room.  Your kindergarten teacher gave you lots of her old school stuff and you got a "teacher's pointer" for your birthday and you are loving using it all!

You continue to be super girly, preferring to wear dresses and as many accessories as possible.  You love long maxi dresses and skirts.  You love to have your nails painted and love to wear high heels.

Happy 6th Birthday, Avery Leigh!

Avery's 6th Birthday Party...

This year for Avery's birthday party, we decided to do a backyard movie night and we showed the Trolls movie.  She really wanted her whole class to be invited, but we were able to narrow it down to 19 kids total (including sisters, cousins and friends).  It was a wild 2.5 hours, but Avery had a blast.  They played hard, ate tons of sugary foods and watched a little of the movie. :)

Memorial Day Weekend....

Memorial Day weekend was a busy one for us.  We seemed to pack in as much as we could.

Friday night we went out to dinner at Bonge's with some friends to celebrate Erin's birthday.  We had never been before, but it was a great time.

Saturday morning, we went downtown to the 500 Festival Parade with our neighbors.  The girls loved it!

On Sunday, we headed over to the Ark Encounter.

We also finally moved Maddy to a big girl bed and gave her Avery's full bed.  We got Avery bunk beds and some new furniture.

Monday we were able to relax a little as we went to our neighborhood pool and grilled out with our neighbors that night.  It was a great start to summer!

May 2017...

I am convinced that May is the busiest time of year.  It seemed crazy for us this year as it was packed with swim lessons, lots of softball games, Mother's Day, end of school activities, working and prepping for summer.

Here is what all we were up to in May.

Maddy and I tagged along with the Kindergarten on their zoo field trip.  It was a chilly day, but the kids had fun.

Kens and Avery did 3 weeks of twice a week swim lessons at Fishers High School to prepare them for their summer swim team.  They loved it and both got to jump off the diving board a few times in the deep end of the pool.

We had a derby party with Nana and Papa and the Lindvall crew.

I got to go to Maddy's Mother's Day party at preschool with her.
Youth Author's at their school (followed by a softball game).

Dinners out at one of our favorite spots...Culver's!

Relaxing Mother's Day afternoon
Our May got even crazier this year, when Maddy broke her arm at preschool during the last week of school.  Fortunately she has a waterproof cast and only has to wear it for 3 weeks, but definitely threw a wrench into our schedule.

Last day of Preschool!!!
Kindy 500!

Maddy went to her buddy, Will's, superhero party.
Avery got the "Future Teacher" award at her end of year class party.
Last day of school!!!
Out to dinner with friends to celebrate the last day of school (and Jeremy's new job)!
