She had her vision checked again and she is at 20/30.  We're thankful for a good report and a healthy 6 year old!

Thanksgiving {2015}...

We had a good Thanksgiving weekend spent with lots of family.  We spent Thanksgiving day at Nana and Papas with the Lindvalls, Zurchers and Brauchlers.  Friday was spent doing our annual Black Friday shopping.  I think we set a record this year as we shopped for almost 10 hours...we were exhausted!  Saturday morning some of our friends from out of town came over to visit and play and Saturday evening we had Thanksgiving with Grammy, Grampy and Aunt Kym.

We ended Thanksgiving weekend with several of us getting sick, but fortunately we seem to be healthy now.  Here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving.

2015/2016 School & Soccer Pics...

So this is delayed since these pictures were taken months ago, but wanted to document for our blog book.  Here are Avery & Kensley's 2015/2016 school pictures and Kensley's soccer pictures.  The photo quality is not the best since I scanned them.

Kensley: 6 Years Old...

Dear Kensley,

Wow!  This has really been a growing up year for you!  I feel like Kindergarten has aged you much faster than I would like.  You LOVE school!  You love everything about it...your friends and teacher, riding the bus, lunch, recess, learning to read, etc.  Some weekends you have actually been disappointed that you don't have school!

You love learning to read and spell and are very determined to learn it all RIGHT NOW!  We keep telling you that it takes practice, but you are so eager to do it all.  You love to practice your school reading books for whoever will listen and you are constantly writing words you can spell in your notebooks.  You are also loving learning to memorize your bible verses for Awana and constantly want to work on "just one more".

You are so social right now and love playing with your friends and being anywhere they are.  Whenever we don't have something planned, you are usually bored and ask "what can I do?".  You are also constantly asking to have "playdates"...which you think means that your friends actually come INTO our house to play.

You got an American Girl doll (Caroline) for your birthday and that's all we've heard about for months.  You love playing with her, taking her places and dressing her.  You love being outside playing, riding your bike and swimming.  You also are really into crafts, coloring and drawing right now.

For the most part, you are a really good eater.  Some of your favorite foods are: broccoli, pizza, mac and cheese, fried rice, apples, pancakes and any sweets.  One of your favorite things about school is eating the school lunch.  You love to plan out the week and decide which days you want to eat at school.

You are still my big helper and are always asking if you can help me with cleaning, folding laundry, etc.  You crave one on one time!  Fortunately you haven't been too jealous when your sisters and I do fun things while you are at school.  You seem to think you have the better end of the deal being at Kindergarten. :)  We've had a few attitude issues the past few months, but I think a lot of it is you asserting your Independence.

You continue to have the softest heart and your feelings tend to get hurt easily.  You are always worried when someone else is sick or hurt.  You have seemed to turn back into a Mama's girl lately and aren't a huge fan when I go out with friends or am gone in the evenings.  You are still the best listener and our rule follower.  You are always concerned about doing things the right way and you are super organized.

We are so thankful for your silly and sweet personality and your kind spirit.  We are so proud of you and love watching you grow and learn new things.

Happy 6th Birthday, Kensley!

Celebrating Kensley: 6 Years Old...

We had lots of fun celebrating our big 6 year old this year!  The birthday celebration stretched to almost a full week as ours typically do.

We started our Kensley's birthday with cinnamon rolls and her first present.  I was able to have lunch with her at school and then volunteered in her classroom a while that afternoon.  The Lindvalls came over for dinner, cake and presents.
She was so excited because she knew what it was!
Her American Girl doll name Caroline.

On Saturday afternoon, we celebrated with a gymnastics party with friends.  This might have been one of my favorite parties we have done for one of the girls.  Minimal prep and mess, the kids had a blast and were entertained for 2 straight hours!

On Saturday night, the grandparents, aunts, uncle and cousins came over for pizza, cake and presents.  We had a relatively quick celebration before everyone collapsed with exhaustion!

Such a great time celebrating our big girl!

Halloween {2015}...

Halloween 2015 was a fun one and brought the girls several opportunities to wear their costumes.  We went to zoo boo, had several costume birthday parties to attend, went to Truck or Treat, at Great Wolf Lodge, Avery wore her costume to preschool and then of course we had Halloween.  We had lots of company trick or treating this year - neighbors, cousins, grandparents and coworkers.

Here are pics from our various Halloween events.

Fall Break {2015}: Great Wolf Lodge

We spent the girls' Fall Break this year at Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, OH with some good friends.  We had a great time and cannot wait to go back again soon!  Our 2 days there was jammed packed with playing at the waterpark, trick or treating around the hotel and hanging with friends.

Here are some pictures from our trip.
