More {late} Summer Fun!

Here is some more of what we have been up to the past few weeks.
Several weeks ago we went with friends to the Michael Jackson tribute concert at Symphony on the Prairie.  We had such a great time!
We had family pictures taken one morning.  We barely squeezed them in before we got poured on.

Picnic lunch during the week with this sweet girl
I watched the Lindvall kiddos one night and these two were such buddies.
This girl started dance class...the same one both of her sisters took.  She is loving it!

Our local 4th of July fireworks were postponed until the Friday before Labor Day.  We went with friends to the outdoor concert and fireworks.
We took our annual trip to Kings Island over Labor Day with the Lindvalls and Nana and Papa.  We just went over and back in one day this year.  As the kiddos are getting older, they all seem to want to go on more thrill rides.  We all had a great time, but we were exhausted!

Madelyn: First Day of Preschool {2016/2017}

Maddy started preschool on Monday, August 29th.  She will go on Mondays and Wednesdays this year and got the same teachers that Avery had when she was in the 3/4 class.  We are so thrilled!  They are great and Maddy already loves them!

She has been anticipating school for weeks...ever since the girls went back. She talked daily about taking her pack-pack and lunchbox to school.  The week before school started we went in to meet her teachers and see her classroom.  I had a hard time getting her to leave!

In front of the school with her buddy and neighbor, McKenzee (Maddy calls her Bee-tenzee)
All ready for school!
In her cubby
It seemed harder to me sending Maddy to preschool than it did with the other two girls.  I think because I know this is it.  In a few short years, she'll be in Kindergarten full time.  She did great going in on her first day of school.  She wanted to immediately start playing and I had to kind of coax her to get a hug and good-bye.  The next few days, she was a little clingier to me but her teacher scooped her right up and made Maddy her special helper.

The night before her first day...she was so excited!
On our way back from taking the girls to the bus stop.  She was so ready to go, but we still had 50 minutes until it was time to leave!

Done with pics and anxious to get to school

Back to School {2016/2017}

It's hard to believe that summer is over and we are back to school already!  The girls were so excited to start back so that does make it easier.  It's still crazy to me that we now have a First Grader, Kindergartener and in a few weeks, Preschooler!  Where is time going?!

Avery's teacher took this picture during the school day and sent it to us.
Day 2...still all smiles and excited for school!
Maddy and I are figuring out our new normal without the big girls around.  She chose Chick-fil-A for lunch...our favorite!
Avery was pretty wiped out from her first 3 days.  She almost fell asleep before dinner Friday night!

The rest of summer 2016...

We had such a great summer!  Outside, of course, of our awesome trip to Hawaii, the girls were at fun (and easier) ages.  Everyone seemed to play well together, Maddy was mostly able to keep up with the big kids and all girls either napped or had quiet time in the room daily!

Here is what all we were up to the rest of July and first few weeks of August.

We were able to meet up with friends at Forest Park to play one evening.  I met these girls about 9 years ago when we all worked together at VMS.  We now have 10 kids between us all!
We had dinner at our neighbor's house to celebrate a birthday.  Kens and Haylee were snuggling together watching a movie.
We visited the Monon Center in Carmel one super hot day.
Maddy got a new (to her) backpack and she is ready for preschool.  She loves it!
We had some friends over to swim at our neighborhood pool.  No pictures of our playdate, but Kens documented it in her journal (homework from Nana).  I love Kindergarten spelling (loosy = lucy). :)
Maddy makes the funniest faces so we were documenting it one evening.
Kens climbing the rope at the MOPS gymnastics playdate.
We went to Symphony on the Prairie with Nana and Papa and Lindvalls.  We saw the Temptations and 4 Tops and the kids loved dancing.

We had Connor and Elli over for a cousin sleepover.  I took the 5 kiddos to the pool the next morning and I think here they are playing tag during the lifeguard break.
We met some friends at Flat Fork Creek park to ride bikes and have lunch.
Scott had a customer event at the Demi Lovato/Nick Jonas concert and had some extra tickets.  Jeremy and I got to tag along for a fun night out mid-week!

We got to meet them and get our pictures taken before the concert.
Children's Museum with friends
Checking out the new Doc McStuffins exhibit
We met Doc there!
Sisters dressed alike for church!
She lost her first top tooth the Saturday before school started!

Ice Cream Social at school
The girls got to meet their teachers and see their new classrooms
We headed to the Indiana State Fair for $2 Tuesday
Pizza and Saxony concert with friends
These two are sweet friends

She lost her second top tooth this past Sunday...just about a week after the first one!
 Such a fun summer!
