Avery: 18 Months Old...

Wow...I can't believe our little peanut is a year and a half old!  It just doesn't seem possible how fast time is going.

Avery is such an ornery little thing.  We refer to her as a "stinker" often and Kensley has even resorted to saying..."She's such a stinker!".  This girls is into EVERYTHING.  She is constantly on the move and loves to climb on anything she can.  She loves to swipe things from her sister, running away as quickly as possible.  She knows when she is being naughty and doing something she shouldn't...she usually just gives us this funny little smile with her eyes squinted and her head tucked down.

Avery is adding more words/sounds to her vocabulary.  She often tries to repeat anything we ask her to.  In the past few weeks, she picked up on the word "no" and uses it often.  She actually shakes her head while saying "nooooo".  It's so hard not to laugh as it's so funny when she does it.  She has also added a few new words: Pa-pop (for Papa), moo and quack.

Aves is so generous with hugs.  She also seems to show a little jealousy when big sis is around.  If Kensley wants to sit on our laps or be near us, Avery is usually pushing herself right in the middle to get to us first.  Aves tries hard to keep up with big sister. She always wants to do everything she is doing

We have Avery's well check visit after the holidays (actually closer to 19 months) so we'll have a better idea of height and weight then.  She is still wearing size 12 - 18 month clothes and pj's and has moved into some 18 - 24 month shirts.  She is in a size 4/5 shoe and still wears a size 3 diaper during the day and size 4 at night.

She loves playing with her baby dolls and her paci is still one of her favorite things.  She often sneaks into her room and swipes her paci's out of her crib during the day.  She'll run to us saying "ook, ook"...so proud of what she accomplished, knowing she isn't supposed to have them during the day.  We're well aware that it's probably time to take the paci away, just not sure we're ready for the sleepless nights or lack of naps as she gets used to sleeping without them.

We're so thankful for this little spitfire.  Happy 18 months, Avery Leigh!
