Back to School {2017 - 2018}...

The school year seemed to sneak upon us this year and I honestly felt like we weren't ready for it.  Summer flew by and it was packed with fun.  We weren't ready to see it end!

We're slowly getting in our new routine with a first grader and second grader!

August Randomness...

Some randomness from August so far...

We went to Conner Prairie with friends.

The girls got haircuts and then we had family pictures taken.

Grammy treated us girls to an end of summer celebration at the Cake Bake shop.

We went to see the Beach Boys at the Symphony on the Prairie

We had a visit from my college roommate and her little girl, Lucy.  We had a great weekend catching up and the kids had so much fun playing!

We had some fun with cousins.

The rest of July...

The summer has continued to be busy for us and we are packing in as much as possible before school starts.  This year I do not feel ready for the start of another school year and wish we had another month of summer.

Here is what we were up to the rest of July.

The big girls went to Spring Hill day camp at our church for a week.  It was 9 am - 4 pm every day and they LOVED it!  Some pictures of their week (some captured by Spring Hill).

While they were at Spring Hill and Maddy was spending her days with Grammy, I was in Aruba for work.  It was a good week, but I was happy to be home after 6 days away.

When I got back, we started packing in the end of summer activities.  First up, West Commons park in Carmel with cousins.

The Lindvall fam rented a boat on Geist and invited us out one evening.  The kiddos had a great time.

We hit up the children's museum with friends one day.

Then on Friday night, we headed over to the Monon Center for a few hours of water fun.  We had a late dinner and an even later bedtime, but the kids did great and we all had so much fun!

Well Checks...

We had a full week of doctor's appointments last week.  We started with the dentist on Monday.  Everyone did great and I didn't even have to sit in with any of the girls...I had my teeth cleaned at the same time.

Thursday morning was eye appointments for all three girls.  Because of our family history of eye disease, our pediatrician wanted the girls all checked out.  Everyone did great and got a great report.

Friday morning we headed for well checks for Avery and Maddy.  We have reached the stage where no one is afraid of the docs anymore which is a huge relief.  Both girls checked out great.

Avery's stats:
Weight: 42.6 lbs (34%)
Height: 3' 7.25" (13%)

Madelyn's stats:
Weight: 36.8 lbs (65%)
Height: 3' 4.25" (63%)

Madelyn Joy: 4 Years Old...

Madelyn Joy is 4 years old and she certainly is the life of the party.  She is by far, the loudest of our three girls and I am convinced she has to be in order to be heard. Maddy is so funny and will do just about anything for a laugh.  She is always making funny faces, noises, etc. and will continue on and on as long as she is getting a reaction.

Maddy is LOVING having her sisters home this summer.  It's been a little bit of an adjustment in the sharing and getting along department, but she loves to have playmates and be involved in whatever they are doing.

Maddy loves to dance, play outside, go to playgrounds, swim, do gymnastics, color, watch movies and sing.  I think if we let her, she would sit in front of the TV and movies all day long.  Her favorites shows and movies right now are Moana, Trolls, Sofia the First, Octonauts and Barbie.  Maddy also loves to sing...she seems to always be coming up with her own version to a song.

Maddy is anxious to keep up with her big sisters and is already asking to do swim lessons and gymnastics.  She wants to swim on the swim team with her sisters next summer and we are planning to let her.

Maddy is into all things girly right now.  She begs to have her nails painted, wear tutu dresses, loves big bows (specifically cheerleading bows) and headbands.  She also loves stuffed animals and beanie boos (like her sisters).  She is still into dressing up and we can usually find her in some sort of costume during the day.

We seem to have hit the picky/slow eating phase with Maddy.  She is always the last one at the table and we usually have to coax her to finish up.  She loves treats and prefers to snack.  She loves milk and usually asks for it multiple times a day.

It's so hard to believe that we are out of the toddler stage for the first time in many years!  So thankful for this little spitfire!

Happy 4th Birthday, Madelyn Joy!
