13 Months Old...

It's still hard for me to believe that we have a 13 month old!  Kensley is in such a fun stage right now and is really becoming a little girl.

Kensley is getting really good at communicating with us.  She signs "more" and "please" for things she wants.  She of course points to everything she wants or pulls on us and grunts to get our attention.  She's also mastered the fake cry really well and seems to think she can use it to get what she wants.  It's too bad the face she makes when she does it, makes us laugh.

She is getting quite the personality and makes us laugh daily.  Her latest thing is lifting her hands up (like she's shrugging her shoulders) when she doesn't know where something is or where it went.  We'll say "Kens, where did (said item) go?" and she'll lift her hands up and go umm?  It's so funny how she's picked this up.

Onto an important item, Kensley's hair is finally starting to lay down.  I'm not sure if it's the static electricity that helps it lay down and stick together or if it's finally getting longer.  I guess all girls go through this awkward hair stage of it looking more like a mullet and in desperate need of a haircut.  I'm still looking forward to the days of little ponytails and pigtails.

Kens is still really into her dolls and stuffed animals.  It's really sweet to see her hug and snuggle them.  She also loves all of her blankets and likes to be snuggled up in them.  She'll drag them across the floor to us so that we can wrap them around her and then she takes off walking around the room snuggled up.  She still loves her books and likes to sit in her chair and page through them.  We are currently in the stage of emptying things out and then putting them back in (or cleaning up as mommy tries to teach).  She loves to take everything out of baskets (mommy's hairbrushes, blankets, etc.), but often helpful when asked to help put them back.

Kensley still loves to be chased.  She gets laughing so hard and often ends up with the hiccups.  She is also very ticklish and we love to hear her belly laugh.

Kensley is taking after her mommy and is already into the Christmas spirit.  We of course put our Christmas decorations up well before Thanksgiving and am not ashamed to say our outdoor lights were the first up (and on) in our neighborhood.  Kens loves pointing out all the decorations in the house and breaks into a huge grin when you name the said item she is pointing out.  She's been really good with the tree; however we didn't decorate the bottom half of the tree.  The real test will be if we can keep her from unwrapping the wrapped Christmas presents under the tree.

I'm disappointed to say, I've been slacking in the picture department.  So these pictures are all from today in her cute, Christmas jammies.

Telling daddy..."I don't know."

That's a rotten look.
She's still not sure...see the innocent look on her face...so funny.

Showing me her belly button.
We're so thankful for this little girl and can't imagine our lives without her.  Happy 13 months, Kens!
