The weather here has been unbelievably hot. We've been trying to stay cool and keep the girls out of the excessive heat as much as possible. We headed to the pool yesterday morning for a few hours. In the afternoon we ran a few errands, got Avery a new carseat and we stopped for ice cream.
We decided sort of last minute to give Fireworks a shot this year as we figure Kens would love them. Depsite the burning ban, they were still shooting off Fireworks over the lake. Before heading to Fireworks, we layed both girls down for a short "nap" (funny enough right at bedtime). We woke the girls up right before 9 pm to head over to Grammy and Grampy's to watch Fireworks on the boat. Kens seemed a little bored and poor Avery was miserable. Her lifejacket is still big on her and it restricts her movement quite a bit. She was sweating like crazy with it on.
We got home, threw the girls in a quick bath and they were in bed shortly after 11 pm (I think that's a record for them!). This morning they were up at 6:30 am ready for the day. Needless to say, they were exhausted today and in desperate need of good naps! We were quickly reminded this morning that maybe some things aren't worth it with small kiddos. Oh well...maybe better luck next year?

| First ride in her new seat! |
| I know, I know (ahem, Ashley). We're working on limiting the paci to her bed and "desperate" times. |
