Warm Weather!

We had a very productive and fun weekend together as a family.  We spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the beautiful, warm weather.  Kensley had a blast playing outside and we even had to coax her in just to feed her dinner.  We're convinced she would skip meals if we'd let her stay outside and play all day long.

Saturday we were able to spend some time with our friends, Erik, Sarah and their little boy, Aaron (who is almost 3 months older than Kens).  We had fun catching up with them and watching the kids play together.  After nap time (which the three of us all enjoyed), we spent time outside playing, doing yard work, taking a walk, etc.  We also managed to fit in a quick trip to pick up some more things for baby sister, a big girl potty for Kens and a stop for ice cream on the way home!

Kensley must have played pretty hard on Saturday, as we all slept in past 8 a.m. on Sunday!  We went to church in the morning and Kensley once again did great in her Sunday School class.  We decided not to give her the paci this week as she's done so well the past few weeks.  She went right to the teacher and barely gave us a second glance as she waved and went right in.  When Jeremy picked her up, he said her face was red and she was hot and sweaty from running around.  When we got home, we ate lunch on the deck and played outside again until nap time.  Of course after nap time, we were right back out, playing, picking flowers, going for a walk, swinging, etc.

We had two milestones this weekend that are worth documenting.  Kensley said her first phrase/sentence "Hi Dada" and "Bye Dada".  It was so sweet as she'd walk around saying "Hi Dada" over and over again in her little high pitch voice.  When we asked her to say "Hi Mama" she reverted back to Dada...this little girl loves her daddy!  She also had her first potty on her little potty.  We put her little potty in our half bath downstairs to get her used to using the potty in the bathroom.  She wanted her diaper off when sitting on the potty and insisted on closing the door (guess she wanted a little privacy).  Mommy was allowed to stay in and the next thing I knew I heard a little tinkle.  We aren't sure if she fully understands what she did, but we of course made a huge deal of it.  She fought putting her diaper back on and even escaped from daddy running naked throughout the house.  We rewarded her with 1 M&M (she'll get 2 M&M's for a #2).  She didn't quite understand the concept that she couldn't have more candy when she asked for it and even tried to fish the candy out of the drawer.  We're still taking cues from Kens with this whole potty training thing.  She acts interested and seems ready, but we definitely don't want to push her into this.
