Avery: 5 Months...

Our sweet, little peanut is 5 months old.  This has been a difficult month for us in the sleep department as Avery seemed to regress some.  Thankfully we have seen some improvement in the past week or so.  We are hoping this continues to improve as we have been tired over here!

Aves typically goes to bed between 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.  Most nights we start the bedtime routine with her around 6ish...bath, fed and then rocked.  Avery loves to be rocked.  Usually all we have to do is turn her sound machine on, put her paci in and once we sit down to rock she snuggles right in and closes her eyes.  Lately she has been waking/stirring 2-3 times a night.  We usually just have to put her paci back in and she will put herself back to sleep.  She typically eats sometime around 4:30 - 5:30 a.m. and then will go back to sleep for a few hours.  She is taking 2-3 naps a day...a longer nap in the morning and afternoon and sometimes a cat nap late afternoon.

Avery is really grabbing her toys and most of them go straight to her mouth.  She is still a paci girl and loves pulling it out...especially as she's trying to fall asleep.  She's been able to put it back in a few times which we are thankful for.  This past month, Avery has really started to enjoy her exersaucer.  She can turn herself around in it and tries hard to pull the toys into her mouth.  She also enjoys her bouncy seat and her floor gym.  The swing has never been a bit hit with her like it was with Kens.

Avery is "talking" like crazy these days and makes so many fun noises and coos.  She loves to be talked to.  She is ticklish and will often giggle or grunt when we tickle her.  It's sweet to hear her little giggle.  She is the happiest baby and smiles all the time.  It's often hard to feed her as she'll just want to stare at us and smile.  She is also blowing bubbles and sticking out her tongue and making spitting noises.

Size wise, Aves is wearing 3-6 months clothes and a few of her 3 month clothes still fit her...however I'm not sure for how much longer.  She wears mostly size 6 month sleepers and is wearing size 1-2 and size 2 diapers.

Aves continue to spit up and I do feel like it's slowly getting better.  I don't feel like she spits up near as much as she used to.  She's trying hard to sit up and often tries to pull herself forward.  Last week, I caught her sitting forward on the couch and leaning on her arms.  She loves to watch big sis and looks for her whenever she hears her in the room.

And now for our 5 month photo shoot...

Aves put a quick end to the shoot

Happy 5 months, sweet Avery girl!
