Kensley: 2 Years Old...

Kens, Munchkin, Sweet Girl....

She is officially 2 years old!

As much as I say it, it just doesn't seem possible.  The past 2 years have literally flown by, but at the same time we can't remember life without Kensley.  There is so much we could say about our girl and so much I want to remember.  I don't even know where to start...

Kensley continues to have a fun personality and a sweet little heart.  She is so funny.  She constantly has us laughing at something she says or does.  She "gets" so much and is really a compliant little girl.  She listens well most of the time and even if there are a few fusses from her, she will do what she's asked.

She is really into her babies and stuffed animals right now.  It's so fun to watch her be a little mommy to them.  Laying them down for naps (on their tummies of course), setting them up to watch Mickey with her, feeding/changing them, kissing them, etc.  It's sweet to hear her talk to them as well: "You ok?", "You wanna get up and pay (play)", etc.  She clearly picks up on what we say and she'll often say to her babies "Hey babe" or "Hi babe".  For those that know Jeremy and I well, that's what we call each other when we're talking to one another.  Apparently that didn't slip by Kens, as she uses it often when talking to her babies.

Other things Kensley enjoys are coloring, playing outside, playing with her little people and reading.  Kens also enjoying watching TV and requests it often.  We've had to limit it as I'm sure she would watch for hours if we let her.  Some of her favorite shows lately are: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins and Olivia.

Kensley is in a very particular stage right now.  She is particular about where she wants things, how her toys are organized, etc.  She corrects us when we call something by the wrong name.  The other day Grammy said to Avery, "There's my sunshine."  Kensley immediately corrected her and said, "No, that Avery."  It was so funny.  She is great about using her manners, saying "please" and "thank you" often and is again quick to correct us if we don't say "please" when asking her to do something.

Kensley likes to sing and we are shocked at how many songs she knows the words to.  She will often sing her ABC's, the B-I-B-L-E, Jesus Loves Me, Jesus Loves the Little Children, Row Row Row Your Boat, Ring Around the Rosy and Happy Birthday.

Kensley doesn't seem to have grown a whole lot since her 18 month appointment.  We'll find out for sure at her well check next month, but she just seems to be a little taller.  She is still wearing 18-24 month clothes and most of her fall/winter clothes are 2T, which are still quite roomy.  She wears size 7 shoes, which are again slightly big still.  She is in size 4 diapers still, however we hope to faze those out all together soon!

Kens still shows interest in going potty on her little potty chair.  She doesn't do it often, but she'll request to do so sometimes (usually when she wants a M&M).  She tells us every time she goes poopy immediately after she goes.  When we get her up from naps or in the morning, she almost always says, "I not poopy" and will repeat it several times indicating that she doesn't need her diaper changed.  Our goal is to really work on potty training once things slow down here.

Kens and I spent some alone time together down at the children's museum on the morning of her birthday.  We had a great time playing.  I must have worn her out as she took a 3 hour nap that afternoon.  Jeremy and I took her on a special birthday date to McDonald's for dinner.

Here are a few pictures of our birthday girl.

Special breakfast...a purple donut!
Loving the water table
She loves to slide!
And she LOVES to ride the horseys (the carousel)...we did it three times.

We love you sweet, Kensley girl and are so thankful for you!
