Avery: 10 Months Old...

Our sweet peanut is in the double digits (months that is)!

This little girl is getting more fun by the day.  She is really on the go and getting into everything!  She started crawling a few weeks ago and is getting braver each day as she ventures around and gets into new things.  She is trying hard to pull herself up on things as well.  She is also starting to get brave as she stands and holds onto things and tries to let go.  She is starting to enjoy holding onto our hands and walking around.

Avery is such a mama's girl these days.  She usually cries when she sees me leave the room and always crawls towards me when she sees me come into a room.  My working from home has definitely had an affect on her...in that she is much more attached to me.  The latest thing is that she will no longer take a bottle.  Ever since I've been home, I just nurse her during the day.  She apparently is used to that now and has refused a bottle every time Jeremy has tried to give her one.  So it's probably safe to say she'll be nursing until she's a year old.

Avery is also such an eater!  She is loving table food and is taking really well to it.  She has yet to turn down anything we've given her.  She shovels it in like someone is going to take it off her plate if she doesn't eat fast enough.  Some of her recent tries and favorites are: bananas, lunch meat (turkey and ham), cheese, pancakes, macaroni and cheese, peaches, pears, corn, blueberry muffins and grilled cheese.  She also loves her puffs and cheerios.  She has mastered her sippy cup and really seems to enjoy drinking water out of it.

Avery has been sleeping pretty well through the night (with the exception of a few nights last week  as she had a runny nose), however she tends to be our early riser.  She is usually in bed between 6:45 - 7 pm...depending on how her afternoon nap goes.  And she typically wakes up anytime between 5:30 - 6 am.  If she's up before 6, we usually just let her talk and play in her crib until she starts to fuss.  We're hoping we can gradually push her bedtime back to 7:30ish and then maybe she'll sleep longer in the morning...wishful thinking.

Sizewise, Avery seems to be chubbing up a little.  She is wearing size 3 diapers, however they are quite roomy.  She is wearing 9 month and 6 - 12 month clothes, however some of her 6 month stuff still fits her.

Our little peanut is picking up new skills and tricks daily.  She loves to clap her hands and is learning to wave (however it looks like a little fist pump right now).  She also loves to give kisses.  She'll grab onto our face, pull us in and plant an open mouth kiss on our face.  It's usually accompanied with some sort of noise and lots of slobber.  Kensley is often on the receiving end of these kisses and she'll just laugh as Avery grabs onto her.

Avery still really enjoys music and will usually start bopping along to a song or beat whenever she hears it.  It's so cute and we love to see her little jig.

Now that Avery can crawl she tends to follow her sister around.  She likes to be near her and tends to go after whatever toy Kensley is playing with.  We can already tell this is the beginning of the bickering as Kensley will say, "no Avery, don't touch it" or will quickly grab her stuff and move away.

Here is our sweet girl at 10 months old.

Happy 10 month birthday, Avery Leigh!
