7 Months Old...

Wow, 7 months old…time just keeps flying by. It’s so hard to believe that another month has gone by! Kensley is in such a fun stage and we are loving watching her grow and learn new things everyday.
Kensley is still a great sleeper. She goes to bed between 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and wakes up around 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. She has recently started a new nap schedule and we finally have her down to two naps a day. She usually naps for an hour and a half to two hours in the morning and afternoon.
As you can see, Kensley isn’t missing many meals. She is really enjoying her “solid” food and as her tastes are expanding she is really starting to show definite preferences. She usually has rice cereal and fruit (apples, bananas and pears are her favorite) for breakfast and a veggie (she loves carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans and squash) and a fruit for dinner. In addition to her solids, she usually gets breastmilk four times throughout the day (nursing or bottles).
Kensley is a curious little one and tends to be very serious in new situations. She loves to be out and about and does great running errands/shopping (once we get there that is...she still hates her carseat). She’s a little bit of a drama queen already and quickly lets us know when she doesn’t like something (with a scream, whine or pouty lip).
Kensley loves to hear her own voice. She’s really into screaming/screeching right now and often does it with a little smirk on her face. She also loves to fake cough after her screams and it’s really funny. She tends to do this when we aren’t paying attention to her or she’s playing by herself. She thinks that’s funny too as she’ll often smile after she coughs several times. We’ll have to try to get this on video as it’s really funny as she keeps doing it over and over.
Despite the fact that Kensley is not yet crawling, she is quite the mover. We know we’re going to be in trouble once she’s crawling/walking. Kensley rolls, scoots and pivots in circles (with her arms). She doesn’t let objects get in her way as she typically tries to roll over her toys, us, furniture, etc. She rarely lays still for a diaper/clothes change and we’re constantly struggling to get her dressed with her wiggling and moving.
Kensley is starting to get a little stranger anxiety. She doesn’t cry when we leave her (for work, etc.), but she’s definitely clingy and apprehensive around those she doesn’t interact with on a daily/weekly basis. Jeremy and I have noticed her being clingier with us in that she always wants to see where we’re at and sometimes cries/whimpers when we leave the room.
We'll leave you with a fun little video of Kens laughing.  She's laughing a lot these days and it's fun to get her going.  We never know what she is going to find funny.

Happy 7 Month Birthday, Kensley!!!
