Oh Avery Leigh, I can't believe you are already 3 years old! I can remember the night (early morning) of your birth like it was yesterday. You came into this world fast and you've been going nonstop ever since!
At three years old, you have quite the personality! You are still our little firecracker. You run, jump and dance everywhere you go. You are also usually singing or humming some tune. But whenever we ask you to sing a specific song, you usually decline...you like it to be your idea (as is the case with most things).
You love to be outside! Your favorite place lately is the park or pool. You tend to lose interest in the pool after about 45 minutes, but you could stay at the park all day long. You love to do puzzles, play with your babies and come up with your own games. I am always finding playing cards, play food, etc. strewn all throughout the house.
You have a somewhat short attention span, but will at times sit to watch TV or part of a movie. Your favorite movie is the Polar Express (yes, it's one we watch year round) and favorite TV shows are Oso, Daniel Tiger and Three Little Pigs. You enjoy coloring, stickers and playing with your Leap Pad. You are also really into books, but more so like to carry a stack of them throughout the house. We can usually count on you bringing several out of your room after you wake up from nap or in the morning.
You are definitely a morning person! The minute your eyes open, you are awake for the day. You usually pop right out of bed and come into our room telling us you want to get up (still saying sometimes "I sleep good"). If you are up before 6:30, we usually make you go back to bed and lay quietly for a while (we're lucky if that last more than 10 minutes though). You nap around 1.5 hours each afternoon. You are still sleeping in a diaper at night, but have recently decided you don't want to nap in one anymore. We've slowly started taking it away at naptime and are hoping for less accidents during nap in the near future.
You love going to school (Mother's Day Out) and Sunday School at church. In the Fall, you will start preschool 2 days a week and I think you will love it as well.
Mealtimes have been difficult with you lately. You are a HUGE breakfast eater most days (eating 1-2 waffles and cereal), but dinner tends to be difficult. You could snack all day if I let you, but we tend to skip snacks in an effort to get you to eat actual meals. You have a sweet tooth, but tend to prefer donuts, candy and fruit snacks to ice cream and cake. Some of your favorites are: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, chicken nuggets, grapes and apple juice.
You are the funniest little girl, always keeping us laughing. You have a hilarious (loud) fake laugh that cracks us up. You have such a sweet, little heart and you still love to snuggle, be held and give hugs. You LOVE to be tickled (ie: have your back, arms, legs scratched) and ask us often to do so. You love your sisters and you and Kens still play so well together. Fights and tattling seem to happen more often these days, but for the most part you are the best of friends. You also have lots of love for Maddy, you call you "baby" and "Mada" and are quick to give her hugs and kisses (sometimes not so gently). You love to "mother" her and read her books.
Avery Leigh, you are such a joy! We love you so much!
