We celebrated Avery's birthday with a donuts and PJ party at our house on Saturday, June 4th. This is the first time we have combined a friends and family party. We kept it super informal and did all of her favorite things with her favorite people.
Nana and Papa rented a bounce house and brought it down on Friday night. The kids and neighbor girls were able to enjoy it for a few hours before bed. It sat it in the rain then all night and it rained off and on throughout the party. We had the kids bring swimsuits and they were able to jump and slide in the rain. We ate donuts/breakfast food, opened presents, played and jumped in the bounce house.

We celebrated as a family on her actual birthday all day on Sunday. She woke excited that she was officially five. She wanted to open presents before church so we did just that. After church, we went to the pool for about 45 minutes. The girls all swam, but it was chilly so we didn't last long. While Maddy napped and Kensley rested, Avery and I went to get pedicures. We relaxed at home for a while and Avery played with all her new toys and then we headed out to Goodfellas for dinner and picked up dessert on the way home. It was a nice day spent together celebrating our big girl.

| Just so I can document and remember this...before we were leaving for dinner Avery said, "I have an idea. Maybe sometime I can walk out to the van while you guys are all in there and then you can say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" So we did just that...she waited in the house until we were ready and we all yelled while she giggled. |
