10 Year Anniversary Trip: Maui (Part 3)...

Wednesday we relaxed on the beach and by our pool on our last day at the Whaler. The waves were pretty big again and the water pretty cloudy, but Jeremy braved it to snorkel at black rock.  We were able to see a turtle swimming right off the beach.  Wednesday evening we headed into Old Lahaina again for dinner, shopping and ice cream.

Swimming buddies...you can see how cloudy the water was because of the swell.

Thursday morning we packed up to head down to Wailea where we were staying for our last two nights.  We checked into our hotel (the Fairmont Kei Lani) and while we waited for our room we drove around the local area.  We checked out Makena Beach (the big beach), Maui Brewing Company and drove through Kihei to do some shopping.  We got into our room mid afternoon and headed down to the pool to relax.  We ate at KO for dinner/happy hour and then went to the local outdoor mall to walk around.

The hotel was pretty amazing, it was just the resort feel we were looking for.

Friday we spent all day at the Fairmont.  We lounged at the different pools, read, ate lunch by the pool, went down the waterslide and then had a great last dinner on Maui.  We ate at Nick's Fish Market at the Fairmont.  We sat on the outdoor patio and had a great view of the sunset.

Big kids on the waterslide.  What's funny is when we talked about going to Hawaii, Avery asked if we were going to go on lots of water slides...nope, just one!
Our last dinner on Maui!  Great food, company and view!
The hotel sent a bottle of champagne and card for our anniversary.
Saturday was our last morning there and we had been wanting to paddle board all week long.  The weather didn't permit us to do it earlier in the week and it wasn't ideal conditions our last morning, but we gave it a shot.  It was much harder than we both thought it would be.  The current was strong and some waves were as high as 3 feet tall.  We had fun trying and I definitely want to do it again in calmer conditions!

We spent the rest of the morning relaxing by the pool and then packed up and left around 11:30 that morning.  We stopped at a few shops, hit up Maui Tacos again (another favorite) before we headed to the airport.  We flew out at 4 pm and flew direct to Chicago.  We landed at about 5 am Chicago time (12 pm Maui time).  After about a two hour layover, we arrived into Indy around 9:30 am.
And Jeremy's trip was complete...a quick stop at Maui Costco!
Goodbye Maui!
Thanks to our families for taking such great care of our girls while we were gone!  We had such a great trip and are thankful we were able to make it happen.
