We ended up spending one day at Disney World during our trip to Florida. The girls had such a good time (as did we) and we quickly learned that we needed more than one day there.
Siesta Key is about 2 hours from Orlando so we woke up (very) early on Wednesday morning and left at 6:30 am to head to Disney. The girls weren't exactly sure what to expect as they had never been and we just told them about going the week before. They knew they were going to meet the princesses and Mickey, ride some rides and go to "Cinderella's castle". I think they were pretty overwhelmed and definitely exhausted as we packed a lot into the day.
Kens wasn't really herself and was fighting some sort of stomach bug. She had diarrhea two days prior to the Disney trip and the day of as well. We tried to limit what she ate some. As we were hustling from one side of the park to the other, she ended up throwing up all over her legs and feet while in the stroller. Fortunately this was around 6 pm and we had already seen quite a bit. After cleaning her up, we decided to take it easy. We watched the Electrical Parade, Fireworks and made a quick stop to meet Mickey before we left the park around 9:30 pm (and got home just before midnight).
Some of the girls favorite attractions throughout the day: meeting the characters (Cinderella, Ariel, Aurora, Mickey, Tinkerbell and Rosetta, and Pooh characters), the Barnstormer (or roller coaster as we refer to it here), the Ariel ride and the Merry-go-Round (Avery's favorite ride where ever she goes!). I was most impressed by the characters...they were SO good with the girls! They were 100% in character and the girls were in awe.
Here are a lot of pictures from our day!
| Waiting on the Ferry to head over to Magic Kingdom |
| And we're off! |
Cutest little Minnie Mouse! This girl was a trooper with her missed naps and our crazy schedule. |
| Little Mermaid ride (Maddy was clearly checking things out!) |
| Dumbo ride! |
| Waiting for the Barnstormer...Avery was barely tall enough to go. I was shocked that she liked it as she looked so tiny riding next to Jeremy. She got tossed around and ended up pinned to Jeremy's side. |
| Meeting Ariel...the highlight for Kens. |
| My little buddy |
| The crazy spinners on the tea cups! |
| The "non-crazy" riders...none of us wanted to spin! |
| A highlight for Avery for sure. |
| Cinderella was so good! |
| Meeting Aurora after leaving Cinderella. I love this picture of Avery just staring at Cinderella..she was in awe! |
| Kens with Eeyore (Avery was freaked out by him) |
| Tigger! |
| At lunch...Maddy was obsessed with Kensley's drink, she kept trying to reach for it. |
| Piglet...Kensley's favorite of the Pooh characters |
| Maddy taking a little snooze with Papa |
| She just couldn't hang on any longer...fell asleep during "it's a small world". |
| Another one of her favorites! |
| All three girls sleeping while we waited in line to meet Mickey |
| While we met Mickey, the nice staff gave us a gift certificate to pick out new shoes for Kens! They noticed she was missing hers and we told them because she had thrown up on them and they were drying out. The customer service was SO good! |
We had such a great day at Magic Kingdom! The girls are anxious to go back and have been "playing Disney" for days (going on the rides, etc.). Thanks Nana and Papa, for a great day!
