Well we had quite the week last week celebrating our big 5 year old! Kensley takes after her Aunt Ashley and prefers to celebrate her birthday all month long! She is disappointed that her birthday celebrations are over ("Can we just have one more??").
She started out celebrating her birthday with her class on Monday before her birthday. She was star of the day and got to bring in snack (cupcakes) and show and tell. She got to wear a birthday crown all day and the class sang to her.
On Tuesday (her actual birthday), Kens and I went on a little date to Culver's for lunch and to pick up cupcakes for her party. She loves one-on-one time these days and was thrilled to have her own "date".
In the afternoon, we had four of her little girl friends over for a little party. It was as crazy and exhausting as you can imagine it'd be with 6 little 3-5 year olds and a 2 year old. Lots of high pitched screaming, running, laughing and of course a few tears (wouldn't be a party without them). She had such a good time!
Tuesday night we celebrated as a family here at home. She picked her "favorite rice" (fried rice from Panda Express) for dinner. We opened presents and we all had a relatively early night from the full day of celebrating.
On Saturday, we had a family party at our house. Nana & Papa, Grammy & Grampy, Aunt Kym, Grandma and Grandpa Zurcher, Great Aunt Carla and the Lindvall family all came to help us celebrate. We had another great party and a fun time with family. The cousins spent the night so the girls, of course, were on a high with their best friends.

Opening her Elsa doll...she was thrilled of course.

I can't remember what happened here, but Elli was in a standoff with her mom (spoiler: she didn't win).

Maddy's excited face...she is letting us know that Emery is not happy.
So fun celebrating our big 5 year old!
